Lesson 12: ICT Project for Social Change

Now that we know what platforms we can use to campaign for social change, it's time to know how to plan a campaign and put it into motion.

Creating a Concept Paper

A concept paper is used to tell all the details of your project and to convince people that your project is possible. This is important in the especially before the project starts in order to find out the potential mistakes in your project.

There are 5 elements in a concept paper:

1. Introduction - This is where you should write the mission and vision your group and a brief introduction to your project.

2. Purpose - This is where you state the reasons why you want to fulfill this project. This should be able to convince in order to find people that will support your project.

3. Description - This should contain all the necessary details that the people should know about your project.

4. Support - This is where you state the amount of money needed to put the project into motion.

5. Contact Information - This should contain the information needed to contact the members of the group project.

ICT Project Process Overview

1. Planning - The first stage of the project. Before the project starts, you must flesh out all the necessary steps needed so that once you are done with preparation, you may have a smooth operation.

a. Conceptualizing your project.

b. Researching on available data about your topic.

c. Setting deadlines and meetings.

d. Assigning people to various tasks.

e. FInding a web or blog host.

f. Creating a web or blog host.

g. Listing down all applications that you need including web apps

h. funding

2. Development - On this stage, you should start creating a website that will advertise your project. This involves making images, infographics, videos, podcasts, etc.

3. Release and Promotion - Once the development of the website is done, the website is now open for public viewing and this is where you can gather supporters for your project.

4. Maintenance - It is is very important to listen and respond to the feedback of your viewers in order to find out their opinions, criticisms, and maybe you can find words of encouragement from them too. The group should also continue to keep the website experience as smooth as possible.

Summary

Planning has always been a necessary step before starting projects and it is the same for ICT Projects. Before planning a concept paper must be made in order to convince people the validity of your project and the possibility of it to come true. It is also important to set a plan of how we will proceed with the ICT Project in order to have things going smoothly.
